Adults-Only Resorts in Fiji Compared

Plan your trip

Fiji island and ocean travel scene

Most of Fiji's adults-only resorts are in two island groups. The Mamanucas are close to Nadi, with boat transfers of about an hour or less. The Yasawas are farther out and usually reached by seaplane or charter flight in about 25 to 30 minutes. A few more are on Vanua Levu and the main island. In Fiji, "adults-only" usually means 16 and over, but each resort sets its own rules.

Use the tables below to narrow the list by island, transfer, price tier and style. Then check the age policy and transfer schedule for your exact dates.

How to read the comparison

  • Transfer is from Nadi or Port Denarau, as published by the resort or Tourism Fiji. Boat times depend on the route, and seaplanes and helicopters have luggage limits.
  • Price tier is our relative guide, not a quote. $$ is upper-mid, $$$ is luxury and $$$$ is top-tier or private-island pricing. Several resorts are all-inclusive, which changes the real comparison. Always check current rates.
  • Style is the overall feel: boutique, barefoot, full-service luxury or remote retreat.

Mamanuca Islands: closest to Nadi

Tourism Fiji's adults-only Mamanuca list covers the main options. Here they are side by side:

A few notes. Tokoriki caps the resort at 72 guests. Tadrai runs as an all-inclusive with five deluxe villas on a secluded cove. Namotu is adults-only most of the year but opens to families for a few weeks around Christmas and the June/July school holidays, so check its dates. Our Mamanuca Islands guide explains how the group fits together.

Yasawa Islands: farther and quieter

Fiji island and ocean travel scene

The Yasawas take longer to reach, but they feel more remote, and several resorts here are all-inclusive. Tourism Fiji's Yasawa adults-only list includes:

Vanua Levu and the main island

  • Namale Resort & Spa, near Savusavu: an adults-only, all-inclusive boutique resort on Vanua Levu, reached by domestic flight and road. Tier $$$$.
  • Koro Sun Resort, near Savusavu: the resort welcomes families, but its Edgewater Floating Bures and Edgewater Bures are adults-only (16 and over). Tier $$.
  • Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, Viti Levu: a large family-friendly resort with an adults-only overwater bure section, about 45 minutes by road from Nadi. Tier $$$.

These suit couples who want an adults-only room without island transfers, or who are combining Fiji's north with diving or rainforest trips.

What sets a few of them apart

  • Likuliku: beyond the overwater bures, the resort runs a Fijian crested iguana program with tours of its sanctuary and dry-forest habitat. That is a rare wildlife extra for a luxury stay.
  • Tropica: guests can join a welcome-ceremony visit to nearby Solevu village and its school, a good fit for couples who want some cultural connection along with time by the pool.
  • Turtle Island: fourteen villas across an island with twelve private beaches, plus experiences built around Fijian heritage and conservation. The resort is designed so each couple has its own stretch of sand.
  • Yasawa Island Resort: you fly in on a small plane to the resort's own airstrip, a scenic arrival over the island chain.
  • Coconut Beach Resort: just 11 bures overlooking the Blue Lagoon area, with relaxed activities such as learning to husk a coconut and drinking fresh coconut water on the beach.
  • Tadrai: five villas spread across a 60-acre property with four beaches, and a mobile spa that sets up wherever you like.

These differences matter more than thread counts. Decide which you value most: wildlife, culture, total seclusion or an active water program. Once you know, the shortlist gets much shorter, and the right resort is usually obvious.

Booking tips for adults-only stays

  1. Confirm the age rule. Most use 16 and over, but policies differ, and some resorts make seasonal exceptions.
  2. Check what is included. All-inclusive rates usually cover meals and many activities. Ask about diving, spa treatments, private dinners and transfers, which are often extra.
  3. Line up transfers with your flight. Helicopters fly in daylight only, and the last boats leave Denarau in the afternoon or early evening. Late arrivals may need a night near Nadi.
  4. Ask about minimum stays. Small resorts often set minimum nights, especially in peak season.
  5. Book early for July, August and Christmas. With so few rooms, the best villas go first.

Bottom line

Pick the island group first: the Mamanucas for easy access, the Yasawas for remoteness, Vanua Levu for rainforest and diving. Then choose the tier and style from the tables above. Tell Far & Away Adventures your dates, budget and must-haves, and we will check age policies, inclusions and transfers before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

What age counts as adult at Fiji's adults-only resorts?

Usually 16 and over, as Tourism Fiji notes for the Mamanuca list. A few resorts set their own limits, so confirm the policy for your booking.

Are Fiji's adults-only resorts all-inclusive?

Some are, including Turtle Island, Yasawa Island Resort, Tadrai and Namale. Others charge meals and activities separately, so compare total costs, not just room rates.

Which adults-only resort is easiest to reach from Nadi?

Fiji Marriott Momi Bay's overwater section is reached by road. Among the islands, the Malolo resorts have the shortest boat transfers, and helicopters can make the hop in about 10 minutes.
